Al-Ameen Medical College at Vijayapur was started during the month of September, 1984 with the untiring efforts of Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, the Founder of Al-Ameen Movement. The college premises spread over two hundred acres of land on western hills of historical city of Vijayapur. The main college building, administrative block, recreation hall, the play ground, basket ball stadium, boys and ladies hostels, central library, thousand bed hospital equipped with the modern amenities to cater the needs of people of Vijayapur and surrounding areas have added beauty to the campus.
Al-Ameen Medical College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru and the college is recognized by Medical Council of India since 1994 (National Medical Commission). The college has started Post Graduate courses in various disciplines of Medical Sciences which are also recognized by MCI. The Management and the staff of the Al-Ameen Medical College are looking forward to make the institution as one of the best medical institutions of our country.

Candidate have to pass all I phase subjects before entering II phase.Candidates entering II Phase will take examination in Pharmacology, Pathology, microbiology and Forensic Medicine at the end of 18 months: Successful candidates who have passed all the subjects of Phase II (at the end of 18 months) will appear for (a) ENT and Ophthalogy and (b) Community Medicine at the end of 12 months at Phase III, Part I Examination.
no Candidate shall be allowed for Phase III,Part I examination unless he/she passed all the subjects of Phase II (No carry over benifit).A candidate failing in one or more subjects of Phase III,part I, and that of appearing of Part III, Part II unless he/she has cleared all subjects of Phase III Part I ( no carry over benefit ).
All the courses are affiliated by Rajiv Ghandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore.
MD/MS in different branches of Medicine are 03 years course with dissertation. All the Post Gradute students have to present "Journal Club" and "Seminar" regularly. Apart from these, they have to go inter departmental posting during their course. End of every year they have to appear intra departmental examinations.
After admission to the Post Graduate curse, they have to submit synopsis within 06 monhs to the University .
The MS / MD students have to submit their dissertation 06 months before they appear Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences examination.
The Department of Al-Ameen Medical College are categorized into three phases as per Medical Council of India (NMC) and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences guidelines for MBBS course. They are referred as Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical Departments. Al-Ameen Medical College has total 21 departments, 03 Pre-clinical, 04 Para-clinical, 13 Clinical and 01 Medical Education departments.
